About The McGuire Sisters
A close-harmony vocal group popular in the '50s and early '60s, the McGuire Sisters comprised Christine, Dorothy and Phyllis McGuire. After singing on their local radio station, the McGuires had their first big break, successfully auditioning for the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts contest. They subsequently scored their first hit in 1954 with "Pine Tree, Pine Over Me," followed by a hit version of "Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight," "Muskrat Ramble," and, in 1955, their first million-seller, "Sincerely." Some of their other hits include, "No More," "It May Sound Silly," "Something’s Gotta Give," and "He." When their sweet harmony style began to be superseded by the "girl-group" sounds of the Crystals, the Shirelles, and the Supremes, they turned to cabaret before disbanding.
