Avis sur l’album

With his Palast Orchester, German singer/bandleader Max Raabe conjures up the sound and image of another time, specifically the German dance band era of the 1920s. Heute Nacht Oder Nie captures Raabe and company in concert in New York City, and over the course of its two discs, he delivers a period-perfect mix of early (pre-swing) jazz, pop, and Tin Pan Alley standards. In his droll but determined style, Raabe leads his band through a program that's dominated by German songs but also features his unique Teutonic take on such American classics as “Singin' in the Rain” and “These Foolish Things.”

He also starred in a number of musical theater roles, including Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's Threepenny...
