EDITORS’ NOTES

Award-winning pianist Olga Scheps, perhaps best known for her interpretations of Chopin, delivers strikingly inventive arrangements of stadium-filling hits by German dance-music group Scooter. “Maria (I Like It Loud)” gains a stunning, ingenious layer of Bach counterpoint, while “4 AM” becomes an introspective nocturne, recalling the mood of Beverley Craven’s 1990 hit “Promise Me,” which the Scooter song originally sampled. And thumping club anthem “Weekend!” is stripped bare, as if composed anew by Arvo Pärt.
