In his record label debut for Warner Classics, American violinist Benjamin Beilman delves into the Romantic and Modern violin repertoire in this collection of works by Schubert, Janáček, Stravinsky and Kreisler. In Schubert’s Violin Sonata in A Major, D. 574, Beilman speaks tenderly and sentimentally through his violin, getting in touch with the restless essence of the music. In the “Divertimento” from Stravinsky’s ballet Le baiser de la fée, Beilman brings out the exotic rhythmic and melodic writing for which the composer was so famous. On Spectrum, Beilman evokes depth from music written in a diverse range of countries, moments and moods.
