Description

Jams On Toast is a delightful music player, hand-crafted for those who truly care about music. It is the only app that lets you manually organize your library any way you’d like.

Inspired by the record collections of yore, you can simply flip through cover art and swipe through crates to navigate and organize your library. Every interaction has been thoughtfully considered, and the design elevates the thing that matters most – your music.

There are little flourishes everywhere – like an animated turntable, which you can tap on to go to the currently playing album; or the 'Read My Mind' feature, where you can cue up the next album simply by scrolling to it, without thinking about what button to tap or managing a playback queue.

If you browse or listen to your music library primarily through albums, this is a beautiful, fast, and power-efficient replacement for the built-in Music app. If that’s not you, Jams On Toast is still a great addition to your other music apps – as a home for music you really love.

Having your music arranged alphabetically, by genre, or other such heuristics never made much sense – does AC/DC really need to be followed by Aphex Twin, or Linkin Park by Metallica? Do genre labels even mean anything today? Take control of your library, and reconnect with the music that matters the most to you. Press and hold any album to move it anywhere in your record collection. Press and hold with two fingers to rearrange sections.

Jams On Toast has been built for the fan who listens to albums cover to cover, and appreciates great artwork (almost!) as much as the music. Or the listener who wants a fresh, distraction-free music experience, instead of being overwhelmed by the built-in app. Or the collector who would rather organize their library in a way that’s meaningful to them, instead of scrolling through an endless, alphabetized list.

Note: This app works with music that has been synced to your device via iTunes. iTunes Match and iCloud Music Library items are supported, but only if the items have been downloaded to the device for offline playback – this may be done from the built-in Music app. Apple Music is not supported at this moment.

Application prometteuse

Serait-il possible d’épingler les albums préférés ?
Le nombre de lectures n’est pas synchronisé avec la bibliothèque

Très bien

Navigation très sympathique !
Il manque le classement "albums par artistes" et l'application serait parfaite !

Very nice navigation!
It lacks the ranking "albums by artists" and the application would be perfect!

Nice, needs some improvements for perfection

Let’s make it clear, the app is simply put perfect in what it wants to be : an album based player.

It has some flaws though, and the most important one right now, is the app not separating the CDs from an album. It puts track 1 of CD1 next to track 1 of CD2, which is not convenient at all...

That was the most problematic thing.

Now, some UI improvement request would be regarding the organization of albums. Someone mentioned “organize by Artists”, and I second that.
I want to see something more. A management menu where you can quickly move multiple albums ou crates of albums at a time. Adding in that menu an option to sort every added albums/songs. All that would be perfect for adding libraries with a high count of artists/albums/songs (more than 10000 in my case).

I also had a strange behavior, where at the end of an album, it plays something even when the iPod is in sleep (fine, it’s an option I have set in the app), but when turning the screen back on, the music is instantly stop, and there is not even a way to have it play again, as the on screenlock controllers disappear, and the app not remembering what was playing once iPod is unlocked.

Thanks though for your great app ! 😉
