Description

The Shire Calendar brings a bit of Middle-earth to your iOS device and Apple Watch. It will display the current day in the calendar of the Hobbits in the app or optionally in one of the available widgets or Watch complications.

The date of the Shire calendar is exactly calculated based on the current date and J.R.R. Tolkien's explanations from the appendices of The Lord of the Rings. All characteristic rules of the Hobbits' calendar are considered and accurately reproduced.

Name of the days

Hello, the days in standard calendar (gregorian) and Shire calendar don’t fit (ex : today is tuesday and Shire is Mersday).

Please note that the Shire Calendar has fixed weekdays in the course of a year. That means a given date has the same weekday in all years. The Gregorian calendar has moving weekdays from one year to the other.

This is one of the special features of the Shire Calendar.
