Wärtsilä iSailor is an easy-to-use marine and river navigation application for amateur seafarers.
iSailor provides a clear presentation of navigational information, electronic charts and additional content.
TX-97 vector charts supported by iSailor are recognized worldwide as one of the most accurate and reliable sources of navigational information.

Chart folios can be purchased and downloaded in the iSailor Chart Store utilizing the standard iTunes Store payment/purchasing procedure. Chart correction service is provided on annual basis via the auto-renewable subscription service. iTunes will charge payment after confirmation of the chart correction purchase. You may manage your subscriptions and turn off the auto-renewal service in the Account Settings. Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the subscription period. You can cancel your subscription in the Chart Store any time. All previously purchased chart folios will remain available for you and can be restored from the service via the Chart Restore function. To receive subsequent chart corrections for your purchased charts, you will need to subscribe to the annual updates in the Chart Store.

The application works on iPhone and iPad using built-in GPS, NMEA Wi-Fi GPS or an external Bluetooth GPS.

NOTE: Continuous use of the GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease the battery life. Wärtsilä iSailor application may use your location even when it’s not open, which can decrease battery life of the device

What’s new in Wärtsilä iSailor

In this latest release, we are introducing a new annual subscription service. This means that all newly purchased chart folios will include a free correction service available to you all year round.
Whenever you choose your next sailing destination and purchase the chart folio through the Chart Store, you will see the subscription end-date for your correction service under the folio name.
Each time when a chart update is available, you will see a star notification and an update button in the Chart Store.

Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the subscription period. You can cancel your subscription in the Chart Store any time.
All previously purchased chart folios will remain available for you and can be restored from the service via the Chart Restore function. To receive subsequent chart corrections for your purchased charts, you will need to subscribe to the annual updates in the Chart Store.

NOTE: App Store will charge payment after confirmation of the chart correction purchase. You may manage your subscriptions and turn off the auto-renewal service in the Account Settings. If you re-subscribe, your new subscription will be automatically updated at the current price unless you cancel chart update service before the subscription period ends in Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Apple ID -> View Apple ID -> Account -> Subscriptions.

Last update is a ripoff

This used to be a great app; it is not anymore and you should stay away; the new owner is doing a lousy job cheating on a large base of users that bought the app on its performance and free updates of maps; the recent update of the app is not an improvement, it is a ripoff! map updates must now subject to a yearly subscription for a price higher than the price of the map itself ! I may understand that updates are not free but the cost should obviously be a small fraction of the cost of the map; too bad !

Cette application était formidable ; ce n’est plus le cas; ne l’achetez pas; le nouveau propriétaire se fout de la gueule des nombreux utilisateurs qui ont déjà acheté l’app sur la base de ses performances et de,la,mise à jour gratuite des cartes; la récente « amélioration » de l’app est tout simplement un vol; cela consiste à demander aux utilisateurs de souscrire un abonnement annuel pour carte achetée et ce pour un prix SUPÉRIEUR au prix d’achat de la carte elle même ! Je peux comprendre que les,mises, à jour ne soient pas gratuites mais seulement si le prix en est une fraction du prix d’achat.
Dommage de devoir trouver une autre app

Cette appli était très bien, simple et intuitive. On peut rajouter seulement les options que l’on souhaite.
Le problème vient des cartes et de la politique commerciale associée.
J’ai acheté pour 80€ de cartes, et je dois re-débourser cette somme chaque année pour avoir les mises à jour. Ce n’est pas équitable.
Ok pour payer les mises à jour, car il faut de l’argent pour faire un produit de qualité. Mais cela ne devrait pas dépasser 10% du prix de la carte complète.
Mise à jour de mon avis : j’ai acquis un émetteur wifi de données NMEA0183, sur lequel se trouve mon gps, un compas, un émetteur récepteur AIS et le speedo sondeur. Pour afficher ces données, je dois acheter pour 60€ d’options !!!

Vous payer l’abonnement annuel et l’appli vous réclame encore de payer pour le même abonnement et la même carte au vu de leur sérieux en therme de gestion de leur application difficile d’avoir confiance en eux en navigation
