Quatuor Hermès

About Quatuor Hermès

Quatuor Hermès was formed in 2008 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon. The four members are violinists Omer Bouchez and Elise Liu, violist Lou Yung-Hsin Chang, and cellist Yan Levionnois. Major honors helped the quartet's career to grow, as did support from the Fondation Banque Populaire. From 2012 to 2016, Quatuor Hermès served as quartet-in-residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels. In 2014, the quartet made its recording debut with an album of Schumann's Op. 41 string quartets. Quatuor Hermès has toured internationally and shared stages with major artists. It collaborated with accordionist Félicien Brut and double bassist Édouard Macarez on Le Pari des Bretelles. Further Quatuor Hermès recordings included albums of music by Schubert and Brahms, and in 2022, it was featured on Charlotte Sohy: Compositrice de la Belle Époque.
