Open Mic Night at the Phoenix?

WTF? Dear oh dear, oh dear. Hey, I'm usually an "each to his/her own" kinda guy, but I just can't help myself with this. What a pile of utter, utter garbage. A waste of iTunes server space, an assault on the ears, and – with a couple of possible exceptions – an insult to both the original artists and all music lovers. Being asked to pay the same 79p for these tracks as you would for the – mostly already acoustic! – originals is also breathtakingly arrogant. If you're in any doubt about my criticism here, just have a listen to track 29... (Sorry to single you out Heidi, but PUH-LEASE!!) I'm just praying that this is in fact an amateur charity album or something, and I've completely missed the point....

Simply Great Acoustic Music

Each to their own but I don't know what the other reveiwer is on about because this album is simply great. I play it on my ipod all the time & puts me in a very mellow , cheerful mood. When ever i play it my mates, relatives or anyone around mention how much they like it & many have now bought it. Great for de-stressing & enjoying music that is simple & not over produced. There are a couple of tracks i don't like but with 38 tracks onh the album that is not bad for a compilation & there are at least 25 really great tracks. If you are into Garage, heavy Dub or metal music then this is probably not for you but it does great for me. Five stars definately.

Excellent Album, Excellent Value

This is an area much travelled by a lot of lesser artists but the basics are always if you are going to cover a track then start with a great song. From there on in you have to cover it pretty well or give your own slant on the song. with 38 tracks it does not really matter if there are 4 or 5 that don't quite hit the mark (Neil Young) as there are at least 30 great ones here. I loved the Bob Dylan , Dido , REM , Elton John & Rolling Stones covers. Perfect Day ? Yes certainly after listening to this great album.
