Across the Multiverse

Across the Multiverse

Dent May soaks his smooth-crooning, lighthearted pop in Californian sunshine before shooting it into space. Much of Across the Multiverse is guided by the clang of piano plinks and glazed in a vintage sheen: He takes on Elton John's poise in the swinging opener, "Hello Cruel World", and Harry Nilsson's eccentric baroque flourishes on colourful, synth-infused tracks like "Take Me to Heaven". His dreamy, Brian Wilson-like vocals add a touch of psychedelia, especially when he finds extraterrestrial love on the horn-fuelled title track.
