iTunes Review

Revolver is The Beatles at the peak of their creativity. Surprising shifts in mood prevail on this album—ranging from the bright positivity of “Good Day Sunshine” to the paranoia of “She Said She Said”. The balance of pure harmony (“Here, There and Everywhere”) with jangling electric guitar (“And Your Bird Can Sing”), orchestral character portraits (“Eleanor Rigby”) and brassy soul (“Got to Get You Into My Life”) is seamless. Revolver is also one of the first psychedelic albums — with backwards guitar, sitar, sound effects and complex lyrics throughout — culminating in the mystical finale of “Tomorrow Never Knows”. Filled with revolutionary studio advances and perfect song craft, the end result is a towering artistic achievement.

Price should not ye not...

I stand bemused at the youngsters (I being a worldly 33!) trolling iTunes with comments about the price of this catalogue.
Who cares about the price? It's, what, 1.5hrs pay if you work in McDonalds. Compared to the money spent on drugs, cheap booze, voting on X Factor and buying McKenzie tracksuits every weekend by the masses of modern, trash society, £10.99 for a defining moment in the history of music is worth every single penny.
Music enriches lives and The Beatles have probably accounted for more life-defining moments than any other music in history.
So whether you're into Tiny Temper (or is that Inflated Ego?) or you 'less than three' JLS, your world of music wouldn't exist if it wasn't for The Beatles. In fact, you or your parents may not exist either (I have Fleetwod Mac to blame for my conception but the Beatles was on afterwards by all accounts!).
So go on, don't buy that takeaway pizza so you can sit on your cheap leather sofa and watch X Factor, buy a Beatles album and let it make your life a wonderful place.

Simply the greatest album ever. Proof that the Beatles were so far ahead of any other bands of the time that it was almost embarrassing.

George's guitars snarl and swirl. Paul's baselines thud, but somehow soar as well. Ringo demonstrates the skill that shows him to be in the top tier of rock drummers. And John puts that voice, that greatest of all voices, to uses that make my eyes water.

Buy this album. Genius at work.

The best album ever!

The Beatles are undoubtedly the greatest ever band and they did many a good album, but this is an absolute masterpiece. It's a must for anybody that is serious about music.

Formed: 1957 in Liverpool, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '60s

So much has been said and written about the Beatles -- and their story is so mythic in its sweep -- that it's difficult to summarize their career without restating clichés that have already been digested by tens of millions of rock fans. To start with the obvious, they were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, and introduced more innovations into popular music than any other rock band of the 20th century. Moreover, they were among the few artists of any discipline that were simultaneously...
