One of the highlights in my journey of musical discovery is to find an artist that isn't desperately seeking attention by breaking musical 'rules' or sitting back and mass-producing the same over-written ballad by simply riding on a catchy melody. And so, after stumbling upon a list of Irish rockers (through a series of strange circumstances), and clicking on a few here and there, I had another one of those highlights when I listened to some tracks from Emmet Tinley. And that is how a new fan was born. This is great acoustic music that not only provides some easy listening but also covers a wide range of material that probably hasn't been done before. My favourite (so far) is definitely Amsterdam Weeps; the arrangement is perfect and his voice sits over the top without rippling the waters. Brilliant.
