Another Brilliant Tenebrae album

Tenebrae are surely one of the most exciting choirs at the moment - they haven't recorded a bad album since they were founded and this has to be one of the best. The sound quality is the usual high quality from Signum Records and the choir deliver a brilliant sound. A great balance of old favourites, new arrangements and a couple of surprises. This has to be a the best of the bunch in terms of new Christmas releases in 2009 and I'm sure it will hold its weight for many a year to come. All credit to Nigel Short.

A professional chamber choir formed and founded by former Westminster Cathedral chorister Nigel Short, Tenebrae made its first appearance in London in 2001. The group focused on medieval chant and renaissance pieces, but also took into account more contemporary source material for a new take on a very old sound.
