Great lyrics

The death of Fred Titmus (yesterday) reminded me of this great album - a favourite that had fallen off my playlist due to only having a cassette edition (really) - time for a shiny new download.

Unless you lived in the UK during the 70s/80s most of the topical references/humour will pass you by. But, if you did, then be transported back 30 years with nods to snooker, minor actors & actresses, kid's TV, pioneering heart surgery, cricketers, and toys.

Note that on the download several tracks are mislabeled. The sequence is correct.

The acerbic post-punk outfit Half Man Half Biscuit was formed in Birkenhead, England in 1984 by singer/guitarist Nigel Blackwell, his guitarist brother Si, bassist Neil Crossley and drummer Paul Wright. While still languishing in relative obscurity, in 1985 they entered the studio to record their debut LP, Back in the D.H.S.S.; upon its release, the album became a favorite of DJ John Peel, and seemingly overnight Half Man Half Biscuit became stars of the British independent...
