Sometimes an artist can express something nameless which you feel or have heard. Kendal Payne has in her career hit the note so often it almost doesn't matter that she is in the US and we languish in our grey world as she has lit it with a dazzling array of thoughtful crafted songs that cast a real glow. This album has some of her hardest hitting songs and throws true light onto the world of loss and hurt but without unneccesary wallowing and when she lets go and expresses joy it really hits home 'cos of her previous honesty. The tunes are equally memorable but her voice is the haunting bit that cuts through the crap of some of the Xfactor wannabie types with sensitivity and control. Also check out Grown.
