Album Review

Ozzy Osbourne finds a permanent replacement for Randy Rhoads in Jake E. Lee, a more standard metal guitarist without Rhoads' neo-classical compositional ability or stylistic flair. Still, Osbourne and his band turn in a competent, workmanlike set of heavy metal featuring the crunching title track, whose video (featuring Osbourne dressed as a werewolf) became popular on MTV. Unfortunately, substance abuse problems would prevent Osbourne from releasing another record up to the standards of Bark at the Moon for nearly the rest of the decade.

Customer Reviews

knew black sabbath - know what's been made of.

No time for talking but just listen and enjoy what one of the greatast souls of music offered and yes it's a shame that life goes on and can't stop the time but real music will never be forgoten and this one is part of history - the good one

Remix hell

Great album, but this is the awful remixed version. Avoid!

Really badly mixed version

Get the original if you can because this one was sabotaged (excuse the Sabbath pun). Seriously though, you can make sure you have the right version by listening to the intro of 'Rock n Roll Rebel'. Three bars in it goes straight into a solo which has vanished from this version ... also there are no extra tracks - which it's better for in my opinion as the ones included are rubbish. For some reson they've also turned the guitar parts right down in this abomination. Like the other reviewer says, Avoid!! PS. The three stars is not for the record but rather this version.

The former Black Sabbath frontman has been highly criticized over his career, mostly due to rumors denouncing him as a psychopath and Satanist. Despite his reputation, no one could deny that Osbourne has had an immeasurable effect on heavy metal. While he...
