Back from the dead

It's incredible that this album has even been made considering the mental and physical state Roky was in in the 90's. The fact that it is so full of good heartfelt songs makes it even more of an achievement. The album is a mixture of new material as well as re-recorded versions of songs previously released as home recordings.

The most special moment of the whole thing is the first song which is a home recording of Roky singing when he was in a mental institution in the 70's. Great lyrics.

Buy the album.

Roky and Okkervill team up beats all comers

Great record whether your a Roky devotee or not. Will Sheff really must take a lot of the praise for the music here. Roky's voice is as enchanting as ever. Fine selection from Roky's bag full of songs. Hopefully more to come.

The child of an architect and would-be opera singer, Erickson dropped...
