Throw away the sequencer Peter!

This is very disappointing overall. Loved East of Angel Town, a great combination of good songs with a refreshing jazz lilt. The majority of Metropolis is very bland, dated and has a formulaic feel with over used unoriginal sequences forming the backbone of many of the songs.

Had watched keenly for a new release from Peter but he needs to make better use of his original mix of jazz and pop if he wants to set himself apart from the plethora of artists that turn out this type of tedious material.

Peter's last album 'East of Angel Town' is what I call the "Soundtrack to my final year in high school" it was very special to me, and still to this day remains my favourite album in the world!
When it was announced that this album would be coming out, it was like hearing from an old friend that I hadn't seen since 2008.
'Metropolis' is an absolutely stunning album. Each songs puts us in the world that Peter is trying to create with the album. Lyrically, all of the songs are perfect. They maintain that jazz flavour bit benefit from Peter's new take on making pop music fused with jazz.
The stand out tracks for me are: Metropolis, Do Or Die, Take A Good Look, Madeline, World Gone Crazy, Forever And Always, Before I Go.
Peter, you have done an incredible job with this album and you deserve every moment of fame you get for these songs!

Losing the jazz agenda

I am a great fan of Peter Cincotti, watching him live in New York when he was just 17, buying his albums and watching him in concert (UK). Great voice, songwriter and superb pianist. Personally I don't like the synthesizer-type music on this new album, which loses the voice and piano. I can see Peter strives to be modern and innovative, but sometimes a good old-fashioned melody and piano does the job, especially for us jazz fans.
