“I’m an ugly man making sexy money,” J Hus famously rapped on breakthrough hit “Friendly”. This EP (nodding to another of Momodou Jallow’s nicknames) feels like a celebration of his blistering success. His first release since 2017’s triumphant Afrobeats-meets-UK rap debut album Common Sense, it’s a three-track encapsulation of the Hus experience. “Dark Vader” is sun-kissed and mischievous, “Scene” ominous and “Dancing Man” lit with contagious live bass.
