bloody brilliant.

this is just splendid music. download it, and enjoy. tracy is class. so many female 'singer-songwriters' just whine, and widdle about endlessly on their acoustic guitar, re-enforcing the drab image that so many people have of them. not so with Ms Bonham. she is like liz phair meets lauren hill meets kurt cobain meets someone you haven't heard before. an intelligent emotional piece, without the dreadful over sensitive meanderings of a lesser writer, tracy restores my faith in the genre. hurrah for her.

Like Alanis Morissette and Liz Phair, Tracy Bonham made her name during the alternative boom of the mid-‘90s. Unlike those two songwriters, she did so by merging post-grunge with elements of classical music, drawing upon her violin skills in the process. The combination helped push her 1996 debut, The Burdens of Being Upright, to gold sales, and Bonham closed out the year with two Grammy nominations.
