A classic bit of UK Indie from the 80s. Check out Another Town and Gentle Sound

Simple Classic Mancunian Indie Pop

Before there was Gene there was the Railway Children (was...were...?). This album is the extended version of the original seven track mini LP and sounds as fesh now as it did back when. Jingly guitars, melodies and catchy tunes, all you 21st Centruy indie bands take note: been there done that. Buy this album you won't be dissapointed. Five stars for the original seven tracks down to four in the longer version, not because there not as good but maybe sometimes seven tracks is enough.....?

Consisting of vocalist Gary Newby, Brian Bateman, Guy Keegan, and Stephen Hull, the Railway Children gained a small cult following in their native England in the late '80s. When the members were still teenagers, the group began releasing singles on Factory Records. Recalling the intricate guitar pop of the Smiths, their singles evoked the ringing hooks of '60s British pop and the post-punk pop attitude of the '80s.
