Groovacious foot-tapping swing-y-ness with a Mediterranean twist.. great listening!

Buonasera Signorina is the latest compilation release from Green Queen Music; Compiled and mixed by Feel Good Productions founder, international DJ and producer Pony Montana; it’s a foot-tapping collection of eighteen club style, electro-swinging vintage-sound remixes and original tracks. It also contains a number of tracks created exclusively for the compilation including Dr Cat’s remix of ‘Me and Mr Wolf’ as well as the title track ‘Buonasera Signorina’ by Pony Montana feat. The Swingrowers.

Buonasera Signorina is a compilation that will as easily appeal to the DJ’s on the scene as it will to individuals looking for an instant swinging party soundtrack for pretty much any occasion! With this collection Pony presents his own particular angle on the genre and in doing so opens the door wider to more of the Electronic Dance Music crowd as well as presenting something fresh to die-hard electro-swingers.

The electro-swing movement is continuing its evolution and from it’s underground roots of 4 or 5 years ago it is emerging into the public arena, capturing the imagination of a whole new wave of club-goers. Its accessibility to all, in terms of it’s musical roots, means that it has an unusually broad audience and with the age range on an average electro-swing night being 20-50 it’s vibe is about cohesion rather than exclusivity; It is music to come together to and at pretty much any occasion.

As a genre electro-swing has grown up and as a result comes in many more different flavors than it had at the outset; It can still be roughly categorised into two main parts; one side of the movement remains based in the roots of the style: remixes of classic, vintage Swing tracks with a more accessible and sociable style, easy going, easy flowing musical frivolity at a jaunty angle and the other takes this essence and moves it a little further towards the dance-floors of the house and techno worlds. Buonasera Signorina comes from this side of the divide; it is a whistle stop tour of the more techno and electro-house end of the swing spectrum with, as the name would suggest, a Mediterranean twist in the mix.

In Buonasera Signorina Pony has woven together a great selection of tracks from artists representing a cross-section of the club-focused electro-swing world - from both emerging talent and well established producers who are also respected outside the electro-swing circuit. From expertly crafted tracks like “Don’t rock the boat” from Skeewiff, who have been putting out top quality Breaks, Lounge-hop and illicit mash-upery since 1998, to
Odjbox’s epic Bond-esque and super funky track “Teresina”; and the compilation exclusives such as Dr Cat’s remix of The Real Tuesday Weld track “Me and Mr Wolf” and “Lee Morday” by Dr Cat & DJ Pony… There are flavours for all discerning tastes.

As a style that first emerged from post-war austerity, bringing sparkle, glamour and decadence to the ‘30‘s, Swing is experiencing a true renaissance. It seems no coincidence then that as we once again stare austerity (albeit of a different type) in the face, we are doing it through the glitz, beats, glam and feathers of an electro movement in full swing!.. Electro-swing … undisputedly music for our times.
