iTunes Review

On December 10, 2007, Led Zeppelin came back to fiery life for a 16-track set in London, documented in the concert film/album Celebration Day. With the late John Bonham’s son Jason on drums, the band do their famous catalogue proud while continuing to tinker. “Black Dog” becomes more lurching than driving; “Stairway to Heaven” is made stunningly intimate. Given that Zep did so much to transform the blues, it’s no surprise that their own songs refuse to remain the same.

awesome

saw the gig on the big screen and it is, without a doubt, the finest musical spectacle ive ever witnessed. all other bands should take note or stop what theyre doing.

In saying this of course, there are few (if any) live bands today which reach the heights of a Led Zeppelin in full flow. Live album of the year

Each song here pushes the boundaries and is the complete definition of rock, blues, funk, attitiude, musicianship and charisma.

Zeppelin ushered in the era of album rock -- they refused to release singles off their albums, even when they were garnering massive radio play -- and of arena rock, playing ever-larger stadiums as their ticket sales skyrocketed. Other bands played on a similar field but Led Zeppelin carried a unique mystique cultivated by...
