Bass Genius

This album has gathered dust in my LP collection for 20 years. I haven't played it for several years so having just found it on iTunes I have been taken back to how great Level 42 and Mark King were in their hayday. The 1st track was recorded in one take - all 18 minutes! It contains the fastest bass guitar rif I have ever heard (16mins into the track for the geeks amongst you). Whilst "42" lost their way in the late eighties and nineties, I would highly recommend this and previous albums ("Early Tapes", "Level 42") as the definative jazz funk music of its time... enjoy!

Probably the best bass player on the planet. Love the writing and the creativity. Seeing him at Ronnie Scotts in March, cant wait. T
