Customer Reviews

I got this album as an LP back when it was first released, when Christian music that really rocked was utterly unheard of and the best that CCM offered Christians who loved hard rock was often half-apologetic efforts by timid bands who thought they were being daring turning their amps up to four and playing guitar breaks that lasted for half a verse.

Imagine my reaction when I heard this! Right from the very first note I was bowled over by the unapologetically growling guitars, the tempo (which ramps up even more after only a minute and a half!), the gutsy vocals, and the fact that the very first bit of music you hear is a frantic guitar break! As if that wasn't enough, there's a nuclear detonation about halfway through the album! I don't think Rez Band ever really topped this, though they came close with one or two later albums. The stand out tracks for me are Autograph, Colours, NYC, Amazing, American Dream and City Streets. Some brilliant lyrics in there too - "The holy morning paper slaps the steps at dawn..."

I'm told that someone sent a copy of this to the influential British DJ John Peel, who was "pleasantly surprised" by it.

After a four-year hiatus, the Resurrection Band resurfaced with Awaiting Your...
