Standing and almost Delivering

Firstly, it's good to see Adam back releasing music commercially after a decade or so of press coverage largely centred on his mental state of health. Secondly, it's good that this release has nothing to do with saving gorillas.

Whilst this doesn't rate amongst his most memorable singles such as Stand & Deliver, Prince Charming, Goody Two Shoes or Kings Of The Wild Frontier, it still has its own charm and is undeniably Stuart Goddard at work. The twangy, country-music vibe makes me think he's hoping this might make an appearance on the soundtrack to The Walking Dead and I'm sure it wouldn't be out of place, but despite this Adam's punky roots outshine any Deep South influences. The b-side is much grittier and punkier and very like the songs you'd find onthe flipside of an Adam Ant 7" back in the early 80s so should please all his long-term fans.

Hopefully a full album is on the way with at least one further single. It's doubtful Adam will bother the charts with this but let's face it, these days that's a compliment. Welcome back.

After that had run its course, he refashioned himself as a mainstream singer, which enabled him to stretch his career out for a couple of years. Once it seemed that his musical...
