Missed you Matt

Great to hear something from Mr. Mahaffey after all these years. He's returned with another catchy and uniquely produced track, as we've come to expect form the man who is Self. Awesome.

Huzzah for the return of Self!

An excellent return for Matt Mahaffey, aka 'Self'. After the last album never (officially) saw the light of day, and he generously gave away a ton of songs via a fan site, it's brilliant to see him coming back with something a little different and new, but still with the inherent 'Self-ness' that makes him unique and blooming marvellous.

Here's hoping that between the great song and video, he'll get some long overdue recognition.

Self is largely the project of Matt Mahaffey, a Murfreesboro, TN-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who began writing songs at age four and was a professional drummer at 12. During high school and college he became proficient at home recording, setting up a studio in his basement and recording demos, some of which eventually became part of his debut album, 1995's Subliminal Plastic Motives.
