Not another best of...?

On first sight you may be forgiven for thinking oh no not another best of album as befits so many other artists but no this is a remake of some of Vannellis best hits with a combination of jazz and wonderful chord progressions that keep you guessing what is coming next as they twist and reshape the original melodies.
The album kicks off with the explosive People Gotta Move which features the deep bass synth sounds reminiscent of his earlier work which nicely compliments the normal bass. The second, Wild Horses starts with a hint of Sailing (Chris Cross) and ends with a flavour of Weather Report. Brilliant!
Each song is a work of art that have been lovingly crafted and reworked as opposed to quickly cobbled together for the sake of releasing a new album. Gino's voice is on top form (would you expect anything less?) as are the musicians that Gino has a knack of finding the best of.
Although a bass player myself I have always loved the drumming on all of Gino's music, if you are a drummer then you must check out his work - amazing!
5 stars - Buy it!
