Album Review

West is the third full release from psych-rock outfit Wooden Shjips. Based on the idealism, romanticism, and mythology of Western America, their psychedelic, expansive sound plays off the theme beautifully. This is the band's first recording in a full studio and is mastered by Sonic Boom, which gives the fuzzy guitars and rolling rhythms clarity and warmth that had been missing on previous records.

Very trippy/great driving/riding music

Never discovered the band until a review in a newspaper (FT) Downloaded this morning, a very surreal experience, makes my motorway miles blend into one! Riding the motorbike will never be the same again. Definitely recommend this, it's opened my eyes to genre of music I never knew existed.

Psych masters

This is the perfect summer album, imagine driving on a sunny day, countryside in your motorbike with the cool breeze caressing your skin from the heat. a perfect mixture of catchy lyrics with psych music.

Also check out Ripley Johnson's other band, Moon Duo, which I like better
