Yay Glee!

I have been waiting for this album for ages, and it doesn't disappoint. The Glee Cast lend their voices to songs that have never been over-covered, and manage to make them sparkle as much as the originals - and sometimes more, in the cases of "Take A Bow" and "No Air". The voices of "Rachel" (Lea Michele) and "Will/Mr. Schuester" (Matthew Morrison) really stand out for me because they are so pure that they give you goosebumps, though something must be said for "Puck" (Mark Salling)'s voice on "Sweet Caroline"; the one moment that really gives lead Finn a run for his money. The one weak link I think is "Quinn" (Dianna Agron)'s voice, it isn't really as powerful as her castmates and sounds a little weak on "You Keep Me Hangin' On." But the real highlights of this album is the first track "Don't Stop Believin'", which was responsible for the birth of so many Gleeks, as well as "Taking Chances" and "Somebody to Love". Even the rap songs don't sound out of place with the stage numbers because they are done so tongue-in-cheek. It's a really good album, and I'd recommend it to anyone, musical theatre fan or not.

Great (:

amazing album, though i wish it had the mash-up songs on it, like halo/walking on sunshine. I also wish it had the song On My Own :P

Love it

Better than high school musical by far! Can't wait for vol 2!

The numbers looked bleak, but Billboard's music charts told a different story the following week, when the Glee version of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" became a Top Five hit. Performed during the pilot by the castmates themselves, the song eventually sold over 700,000 downloads and paved the way for Glee's...
