OUTSTANDING

Puressence are awsome one of the most criminally underated and ignored bands ever! Download this NOW! (and check out their back catalogue) Be part of this and enjoy them while they are still around putting out some of the most spine tingling, emotional, uplifting music you will ever hear!

Even America are getting this band now, when will you?

In the USA, the I-Tunes store this week picked its first 'Editor's Choice' album. And what did they choose? Some classic blues, country perhaps....or a band from Manchester who have never found commercial success in the UK? Puressence's 4th album, 'Don't Forget To Remember' was their choice and rightly so. If you haven't heard this record then simply download it now. I will let the record do itself justice. Then get down on your knees and be thankful that on the UK store you can also download all their other albums, whilst our US friends over the pond can only get one. Be thankful, be blessed, for we are British, and we made Puressence. Now spread the word people.

Pure Excellence

As a long-time fan of Puressence it has been a tough wait (5 years) for this album, but it has been well worth it. This album is easy to listen to on your first hearing, and grows on you very quickly over time. The band have produced three other superb albums, each with their own flavour, which are all well worth checking out aswell as their latest. Standout songs for me are Burns Inside, Drop Down to Earth and Don't Forget to Remember - but truly there are no *filler* songs, and this is a very solid album, worth having in any cd collection.

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Ignored by the majority but adored by a faithful, modest few, Failsworth, Manchester's Puressence were something of a contradiction in terms. Although they shared a laddish image and an implied arrogance with the mid-'90s incarnations of other north west England indie rock acts such as Oasis and the Charlatans, the high-register, ethereal vocals of frontman James Mudriczki pointed to something altogether more sophisticated. Claims that the band met on a bus on the way to the Stone Roses' legendary...
