Nostalgia all the way

Anyone still hiding in the closet apologising for enjoying the music now tarred as 80's glam will have all these tracks in one form or another. A great era for music and often mocked but tell me, when you're in a good mad or bad, up or down, I bet you can find a song from the era of White Lion's hayday. I witnessed a Danish band almost playing a homecoming gig in Glasgow in the 80's at the manky infmous 'Barras' venue and it remains one of the greatest gigs I've seen. I've seen bands that are hundreds of pounds per ticket, and bands that'd give you that to get you in, but White Lion still shine. They just seemed to churn it out. Mike Tramp attempted to do the same with Freak Of Nature, and though a fan of that too, didn't quite have the catch that White Lion had. A band ultimately destroyed by implosion, but aren't the best things often borne from something a little edgy. On here you'll find every aspect of White Lion, shame not to find the exceptional Blue Monday from Mane Attraction and Living on the edge from Big Game. Little nuggets like Lights And Thunder, Love Don't Come Easy are timeless and Cry for Freedom and When The Children Cry are excellent. Buy It - it's magic

The group originally formed in 1983 and despite several bassists and drummers coming and going (including future Black Sabbath and Great White bass player Dave Spitz), the group managed to issue a debut, Fight to Survive, on the independent metal label Grand...
