So the Dutchmen have a nice together ensemble sound, pushing it all along nicely. The DSC at their best perhaps as good as the best British bands of the genre e.g. Humph (though no Bruce Turner to hand! Maybe Humph just before BT) Bechet a powerhouse, more free-ranging, driving, wild sound. Sometimes he got too much of a whinny on, but the balance between Eurpean restraint and the old master's fire is just superb.
