Album Review

This record is half a Jimmy Dean album and half Luke Gordon. The Dean side really is a pleasure, with some excellent country pop novelties like "You Little Devil" and "I'll Always Love You" sung with Dean's impossibly funny and engaging nasal whine. The Gordon side is almost as good, although Gordon does not have the personality or warmth of Dean. There is, though, some excellent (and uncredited) mandolin playing on the Gordon material, which helps make this collection worthwhile.
