Perfect performance from perfect band!!!!

Lets get one thing clear, for me The Police are the greatest of them all. If like me you thought you had heard the best of them 30 years ago think again. The band have completly re-energised all of their songs, gone are much of the eighties sounds replaced by crisp and clear rock scores. Dont get me wrong the reege influences are still clearly present but this alburm has literally reinvented the sound of your favorite Police song!! For me every song here is a must but highlights are Synchronicity 11, Message, the remarkable version of every little thing and Wrapped around your finger. The best way to describe this is its like the Police warped and re invigorated!! the power and the noise here is like nothing ive heard from the band before. This alburm for me fatures THE BEST VERSIONS of many of their songs....proof that great works improve with age. PERFECT 10

For the fams

I remember clearly the first time I heard the cry of Rooooooxanne back in the seventies as if it was yestreday. Much water has passed under the bridge and music and musical tastes have moved on. However this especially, for those who went to the gigs is great fun. As with nearly all the Police work its not perfect, but that is part of the appeal. Their sound has always been if not unique, very close to being so, with Andy Summers guitar, makinfg the difference from other bands. If you are a fan of the band buy this, and you wont be disapointed, otherwise stear clear. I LOVE IT!

Live

Companion piece to the excellent DVD of the same name. If you want polished stadium filled rock from 3 excellent musicians then buy this and enjoy. If you yearn for 3 blond punks in the backroom of a pub, forget it. A perfect audio keepsake of the last tour - basically greatest hits live. How can 3 men make this much noise?

Biography

Formed: 1977 in London, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '00s

Nominally, the Police were punk rock, but that's only in the loosest sense of the term. The trio's nervous, reggae-injected pop/rock was punky, but it wasn't necessarily punk. All three members were considerably more technically proficient than the average punk or new wave band. Andy Summers had a precise guitar attack that created dense, interlocking waves of sounds and effects. Stewart Copeland could play polyrhythms effortlessly. And Sting, with his high, keening voice, was capable of constructing...
