ROCK + DANCE = BOOM BOOM SATELLITES EXPOSED

First thing first, this is a Japanese album but all tracks are sung in english, so dont worry :D.

Moving on.

O.K. maybe the capital lettering was a bit ott but I can't say about this album, its simply... EPIC!

Let me explain:
After first listening to the track INTERGALCTIC (track 6) I was hooked, BBS (Boom Boom Satellites) are an alternative rock band, thats if they can even be called such a thing as a 'rock band'. BBS's music is a hybrid between new edge rock (Linkin Park) and dance (The Prodigy), when EXPOSED first kicks off with 'Upside Down' (track 1) your isnstantly in a place different to any thing that is currently sold in the west. This is mainly because there is a perfect balance between the two different genres, rock & dance.
As an album EXPOSED is BBS's more rock oreineted album where as past albums have had a jazz style to them. This isn't a bad thing, in fact this is a step in the right direction, because this album seems to know exactly what it is. From start to finish, you won't be dissapionted in the fact that you spent money purchasing an album that defines what can be produced in the way of music today. EXPOSED has a dark, gritty and almost tainted sensation. It emits sounds that seem to have no relation to each other, for example, the heavey drum beat and keyboard synths with the raging electric guitar of 'Shut Up And Explode' (track 4, also very good track to dance to ;)). This seems to tell you why most electronic bands today are so over rated but having said that at times this album seems to break its own heart beat by slowing right down which I felt at times was annouying. It starts off as a high energy blood pumping record that is a angry bull on the charge (What Goes Around Comes Around track 2) but it all comes togather in the second half as EXPOSED then takes it a step at a time giving more evenly balanced tracks that does not disrupt the previous track Fiemds (track 8). In terms of lyrics Michiyuki Kawashima (lead singer and guitar) deos a good job of making his vioce seem more of an instrument rather than a story teller, personaly his Japanese accent is a little on the stronge side. Finding the lyrics on the internet will be needed XD.

In short this album is a fine example why BBS are a multi platnum selling band, also why more asian bands should be allowed to market and sell thier record all over Europe and North America.
Enjoy;).
