Justice for Kirsty!

Well it's a classic and I have the original version so why not - it's clear that Shane continues to lead in this song too, and while the late Kirsty MacColl had a set of pipes, the more classic singing style of Katie can never replace Kirsty - but she played good all the same. Look, the main reason to buy this is because you can only get it here, and because the royalties are going to Crisis at Christmas and the Justice for Kirsty campaign, run by MacColl's mum. MacColl was killed five years ago by some rich Mexican in a powerboat, and he's so rich he has not been bought to justice. And that's just wrong. Also it's a great song, Shane's voice is different now, and with the death of Kirsty and SHane's obvious sadness at that, you get a totally different edge when you hear the song. In fact buy both versions, as all the other Christmas songs this season are rubbish. Pogues for NUMBER ONE.

A great performance from the greatest live band in the world

This is from this week's Jonathan Ross Show, I think. Nobody will ever surpass the original 1987 version by The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl, but Katie Melua does an excellent job all the same and the Pogues sound just great.

Classic song for a worthy cause

This song is not only the best Christmas song but proceeds go to Crisis at Christmas and the Justic for Kirsty campaign.

School for the Performing Arts & Technology. The record industry-funded school had a habit...
