Editors’ Notes

P!NK’s second album marked a sharp turn from the dance-y R&B of her debut to a moodier, more rock-oriented realm. “Get the Party Started” is a perfectly upbeat banger, but on “Don’t Let Me Get Me” she labels herself “a hazard to myself” while shrugging off comparisons to “damn Britney Spears”. Tracks like “Dear Diary”, “My Vietnam” and the devastating “Family Portrait” are just as personal, but no less catchy. This is the album on which modern teen pop grew up.

Customer Reviews

One of the best albums ever recorded.

17 years old. In college. Unsure of what life would offer and how i would handle it, and this was the album i bought on a whim in hmv in oxford. i listened to get the party started and then dont let me get me on repeat for weeks and then i slowly realised i could relate to every single song on the album. and that is why pink is a musical genius. there are only a couple of artists that i know before they even release an album that i will love every song on the album and pink is one of them. i cannot put into words how much this album shaped me as a person and helped me to be who i am. i just hope im not the only person who feels the way because it would be a dreadful shame for anyone never to be able to enjoy a piece of music this much.

I LOVE P!NK

Pink does it again... and with all the style and intelligence we now know she possesses. This album is slick and classic, without a single track that we press skip on. This is a brilliant album with all the classics on it... M!sundaztood, Family Portrait, Don't Let Me Get Me, Like a Pill... can I say any more?

PINK U ROCK!!!!!

She is the best female icon of our time she doesnt do stereotypical things in her songs she does something different every time U ROCK!

Although initially viewed as another face in the late-'90s crowd of teen pop acts, Pink (professionally known as P!nk) quickly transcended and outgrew that label with her combination of pop songcraft and powerhouse, rock-influenced vocals. Born Alecia Moore on September 8, 1979, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, P!nk received her nickname as a child, years before she dyed her hair accordingly. She grew up in a musical family and was a regular on the Philadelphia club scene by the age of 13, first as a...
