Underrated 80's Classic

This is a hidden gem of 80's electronic music with the hit singles,"living on the ceiling" and "waves" it also included fabulous tunes such as the "feel me","wasted" and my favourite track the superb "i've seen the word".
Any lovers of electronic music could do worse than take a listen to these early pioneers.

This is to my mind Blancmange's best album. Though Mange Tout is often described as more accomplished, what that means is more produced. Happy Families is an album packed with character and has stood the test of time better than Mange Tout, which is also great by the way. It is obviously a personal thing but to my mind this album is more powerful and organic than Mange Tout. The band obviously polarise opinion looking at Son of Luminu's review but I think they are a great band and Neil Arthur's vocals are full of character and Yorkshire pride.

Good, very good.

i liked them then and i like them now. They were different to the run of the mill electro pop but that just makes them better. I'm glad that they followed their own path as too many 80's synth bands sounded the same. Still love them all though - the 80's, what a place in time ! What a special band.

Consisting of Neil Arthur (vocals, guitar) and Stephen Luscombe (keyboards), Blancmange formed in London, England in the late '70s. Originally called L360, Blancmange received immediate recognition when they sent the song "Sad Day" to DJ Stevo, who added it to a compilation LP of then-unsigned new wave...
