Customer Reviews

i have no idea why this hasnt been reviewed yet, but this is just awesome, the screaming vocals are insane and the riffing is in a league of its own, for all metalheads like myself, this is essential

'80s-influenced, yes - but 3IOB are so much more!

While the description is right to quote 3IOB's roots in '80s thrash and heavy metal, I feel this doesn't quite do justice to their unique style of music. To be sure, they combine all the best aspects of the bands listed but to this they add a style very much their own. The twin vocals, while certainly influenced by Judas Priest from one side, owe just as much to the European death metal scene from the other. Meanwhile, the recognisably 80's-influenced melodies and licks are given an enthusiasm that is rarely seen in bands from this period, and is well in line with their playful and good-humoured approach to lyric-writing! 3 Inches of Blood are a fast-paced onslaught of catchy melodies and even catchier vocals, which in many ways surpasses the '80s legends that have contributed so much to their sound. The epic Fire up the Blades is the best example yet of the innovation they can put back into the genre.

Years Active: '00s

Canadian sextet Three Inches of Blood hails from Vancouver and features Cam Pipes (clean vocals), Jamie Hooper (shrieked vocals), Sunny Dhak (lead guitar), Bobby Froese (rhythm guitar), Rich Trawick (bass) and Geoff Trawick (drums).
