Album Review

Announced and released on the same day, Following Sea is the rather unexpected seventh studio album from Belgian experimental art rock quintet dEUS. Arriving just nine months after 2011's Keep You Close, the closely guarded secret was recorded on tour with producer Adam Noble and features songs that tackle the subjects of soldiers' post-traumatic stress ("Hidden Wounds") and the Costa Concordia tragedy ("The Give Up Gene") alongside their first ever French-sung track ("Quatre Mains"). ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

Genius dEUS

Album released today and I've had it on repeat throughout the day! dEUS never ever fails to blow me away. Yet again, they have kicked it up a notch. You just cannot compare them or their music to anything else, not one to be pigeon-holed or be predictable. The level of creativity in the band is immense. Following Sea is incredibly melodic, with introspective lyrics, big complex sounds, feel-good, light and shade. Art-Rock at its best. Just amazing and unique in every way.

2nd album in 2012

Fans of dEUS won't be dissapointed especially after Keep You Close which was released this year was a bit underwhelming. dEUS usually take 4 - 5 years between albums but a new album in 4 months is a rare treat.
Quatre Mains might even be their best song ever.

Really good. You won't be disappointed!

I've been a fan of deus since 1995 when I was a teenager. Its great to have grown up listening to them and still find that they are putting out great songs. Their music is full of clever lyrics and skilful sounds. They've evolved; not just put out the same sounding stuff, and 'following sea' is no exception. In my opinion it is their best album yet, sounding up-to-date and fresh. I really hope to see them live next year. Great album.
