Customer Reviews

Good

Great collection of very emotive songs recorded raw on a beautiful recording system. Don't expect Queen Adreena or Daisy Chainsaw from this, and if all you liked them for was their punk or grunge elements you may be disappointed, but personally I do not know anyone that doesn't like this album, it's a sheer mix of Indie, Goth and absolute randomeness. Great for any collector, watch out for lesions in the brain and too busy sinking, you may well have them stuck in your head for weeks.

Beautifully Disturbed and Wonderful

This is the first review I've written as I felt obliged to encourage others to buy this album, it has to be the best itunes purchase I've made. If your expecting the raging noise of Queen Adreena or Daisy Chainsaw then expect to be let down. Lullabies in a Glass Wilderness is Katie Jane Garside more pared down and subtle than we've heard her before. The sound of the album is difficult to verbalise because you really have to listen to it sort of folksy, bluesy but distortedly so with some minimal trip-hoppy beats; ethereal and otherworldly. Lyrically it's classically Katie Jane - poetic and frightening; dicotomys of innocence and sexuality, beauty and violence, the sacred and profane; and with a sort of controlled insanity. In all it's a completely unique and undescribably amazing piece of work. Take my advice and buy it now!

Buyers Opinion

If your a Queen Adreena fan, don't expect this new project by K.J.G to sound anything like their material. I personally found that this album varies in terms of strength. Songs like 'Lost Upon the Flame' and 'Too Busy Sinking' are the strongest two songs i feel, however; NOT all songs are the same. If you have an open mind then this may be worth your purchase, but if you know what you like and don't like the sound of my critisicm then perhaps you shoud save your pennies.
