what a great album! just found it by chance. it certainly takes you back to the film all the sounds atre there, quite scary!!
One of the Great Electronic Film Soundtracks of All Time.
Raymond Scott's work and of course Daphne Oram are seriously worthy of your time and ears, however in terms of off-worldly electronic excellence this album is a landmark. It's remarkable that Louis and Bebe Barron, a husband and wife team, are just jamming together like this. Pure and spacey non-preset sounds play in a liquid and eloquent free fall. Some of it is almost industrial. Experimental and exciting, spooky and darkly atmospheric (way before Dubstep and Darkwave got it's game on) this tapestry of digital doodles and pixelated paintings needs to be firmly recognized as a major leap in the history and development of electronic music.
