The Chemical Brothers frequently indulge in at least one quiet moment per album, but on Further, they start there. The falsetto hush of "Snow" proves the perfect launchpad for the epic "Escape Velocity", a psych-fuelled rave anthem that sets up all kinds of twists and turns to follow. The mixture of spine-tingling '60s pop and mind-bending electronic experiments marks a welcome return to form. This lean, potent record finds the duo confidently pushing further in every direction, and it's a marvel to behold.
