About Orchestra of the Swan

The Orchestra of the Swan, affectionately called OOTS, is a British chamber orchestra based in the Civic Hall of Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire and the Town Hall of Birmingham. Founded in 1995, the ensemble has performed in London, Coventry, Bedworth, Loughborough, and Lichfield, though the group is best known for its performances at the Stratford Music Festival. In addition to its established residencies, the Orchestra of the Swan has also formed connections to the Malvern Theatre, Huntingdon Hall in Worcester, and Number 8, the community arts center in Pershore. The Orchestra of the Swan has toured the U.K. and China, notably selling out a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. It has commissioned new music, and made a special project of recording the music of Hans Gál, in addition to chamber versions of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 and Das Lied von der Erde.
