Editors’ Notes

50 Cent's major-label debut came after years of mix-tape triumphs, an abortive deal with Sony, and a number of bullet wounds that made him appear superhuman. Under the wing of Eminem's Shady label, Get Rich or Die Tryin' quickly made millions of rap fans believe the hype. While the disc rightfully gained tons of attention for singles like "In Da Club" and "21 Questions" (which did for self-doubt what "In Da Club" had for unleashed partying), what continues to impress is the consistency of 50 Cents's vision and skills. Other key tracks: "P.I.M.P.," "Many Men (Death Wish)"
