Customer Reviews

Dont be put off- this is really very good indeed.

Dont let two lukewarm reviews put you off. This is a really worthwhile and throuroughly enjoyable offering from the 'Big Dome' I think that Eno is continuing to wrestle with the problems of how to use words and music to generate something that is more than the sum of its parts and he has been successful here. It is amusing, disturbing, occasionally funky, and something that I know that I will keep coming back to for some time.

Seedpods and The Airman standout, but not by much as I had expected this to be a curate's egg, but it is much more consistent than that. This is not 'difficult' music for the sake of it, in fact if anything it makes super-cool easy listening, but in concert with much of his work how much attention it commands is down to you. It does repay close listening and responds well to a decent set up and/or Headphones. Once again it is way beyond Muzak and is attempting to find new ways to think about and experience the worlds of sound with text. Yummy.

Pushing boundaries,

Eno has never played it safe, and this is once again a risky legs over the precipice album. Some may hate it, but once again he is expanding and supporting what is almost a new genre of music...or should that be poetry?

Too much !

Too much talking on most tracks.. Worth listening to once with good headphones but wouldn't go back. check out his previous work though it's worth it.

Ambient pioneer, glam rocker, hit producer, multimedia artist, technological innovator, worldbeat proponent, and self-described non-musician -- over the course of his long, prolific, and immensely influential career, Brian Eno was all of these things and much, much more. Determining his creative pathways with the aid of a deck of instructional, tarot-like cards called Oblique Strategies, Eno championed theory over practice, serendipity over forethought, and texture over craft; in the process, he...
