Full of Summer & Sweetness.

If you are on a downer or have the winter blues there is nothing better than this album to cheer you up. Yes it's very nutty and sugary sweet but that's Tiny Tim's charm. I listen to this whole album with a smile. Highlights are 'Strawberry Tea' 'Ever Since You Told Me You Loved Me..' 'Livin' in the Sunlight..' & 'Tip Toe Thru' the Tulips With Me' You won't be disappointed with this zany little album.

A True Oddity...and entertaining

I used to own the original album and it certainly had to be most unusual record I ever owned. My mother bought it for fun in the late 60's for my brother and I.

Several things make the album stand out (aside from Tiny Tim himself)...
1. A number of the tunes are very catchy and surprisingly entertaining. Only today have I discovered some of these were hits during my grandfather's and great-grandfather's generations.
2. Also surprising is the quality & professionalism of both the instrumentalists and arrangements. The people involved with this project were obviously consummate professionals producing an album that was both unique and top-notch, from both technical and entertainment aspects.

This level of professionalism and creativity undoubtedly were the reason for this album's success. Tiny Tim, of course, was the draw, but draw alone isn't enough to guarantee a successful album. When performing on his own, Tim sometimes sang off tune and his sense of rhythm was not always spot on either. However, his uniqueness supported by a group of talented writers and musicians really created something worth listening to. I'm sure many takes were required on Tim's part to get things perfect from the producers' standpoint (but that's the advantage of recorded vs. live music).

The late 1960's were difficult, turbulent, fast changing times. Tiny Tim was one of those unique, silly comedic distractions that people needed for a good laugh, at a time when there often wasn't much to laugh at. This album catches a unique experience from that era.

Born: 12 April 1933 in New York, NY

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s

During his proverbial 15 minutes of fame in the late '60s, Tiny Tim was one of the most bizarre spectacles on television: a heavy, six-foot-tall man with long, unkempt ringlets of hair, an enormous nose, and a garish plaid wardrobe; warbling the old-time pop standard "Tip-Toe Through the Tulips" in a quavering, shockingly high falsetto while accompanying himself on the ukulele. Pegged as strictly a novelty act, Tim actually possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of vintage American pop and vaudeville...
