Get into Town

Yaay! Rufus.. what a man.. This single is great! another piece of genius writing from someone who has to be shaping up to be one of the best composers of his generation.. Rufus Wainwright is without doubt.. a true original. GOING TO TOWN lilts along on a beautiful melody that (Like all Rufus music) hooks you like a drug the more times you hear it. The problem with Mr Wainwright has been lack of exposure to the masses.. He's great wine that needs to be tasted, savoured and enjoyed.. one you 've done that you never go back. After his triumphant Carnegie Hall and Palladium shows where he re-did the Judy Garland shows of the early 60's (When is this coming out by the way.. we,.. the fan's .. need it!!).. You may think he would slightly sell out with something mainstream to capitalise on his new exposure.. but no,. typically, this great Artist stays an ARTIST.. buy GOING TO A TOWN and enjoy vintage Wine!

Rufus for President! (Wouldn't that be fun)

The first track from his forthcoming album 'Release the Stars', ‘Going to a Town’ contains some fantastic lyrics about modern day America, great musicianship and Rufus’ wonderful voice. What more could you ask for? Buy this single now and let’s get Mr Wainwright some well deserved chart success.

Wonderful

The exhaustion in his voice, the wonderful lyrics and the haunting melody make this my favourite Rufus track since... oh, probably the last one.
