iTunes Review

Prince jumped into the '90s with Graffiti Bridge, an ambitious film/soundtrack project modelled after the multimedia triumph of Purple Rain. The bright, driving and gospel-inflected double LP pushed his ‘80s experimentation to new heights. Its guests alone show how far he’d come as a collaborator—he’s joined by Tevin Campbell (“Round and Round”), Mavis Staples (“Melody Cool”) and musicians who later coalesced as The New Power Generation (“Thieves in the Temple”). And while the film was a box office flop, the soundtrack is a commanding reminder of Prince’s powers of seduction—which have never seemed more coy, urgent or mystical than they do here.

secret gem

for those dismissing this album, have a try of joy in repetition, my favourite track by prince of all time, takes itself slowly and builds, very very sexy!!

half good

half the songs on this album are good and half are duds but there's a lot of tracks and it's cheap so it's probably worth buying.

Did not get the critical acclaim it deserved

From the rock-funk of "Can't Stop This Feeling I Got" through to the end of the soundtrack with "New Power Generation (Pt. II), it sounds perfect but this is certainly not his best album. It sounds perfect when playing and did not get the acclaim it deserved!

Not only did he release a series of groundbreaking albums; he toured frequently, produced albums, wrote songs for many other artists, and recorded hundreds of songs that still lie unreleased in his vaults. With each album he released, Prince showed remarkable stylistic growth...
